Senior Safety from Scams & Fraud was held on Feb. 25. Investors Bank provided helpful information about personal money management, including monitoring for fraudulent charges, and the NYPD Crime Prevention Unit told us about various discuss phone scams and ways to protect yourself from financial loss.

 

8 de enero, 2020 - Gracias a Licet Valois, Gerente de Programa de la Asociación de Alzheimer-NYC por un taller educativo interesante y esclarecedor sobre Lo básico. Tuvimos un grupo maravilloso de participantes y también pudimos celebrar el Día de los Reyes y provar de Rosca de Reyes.

Thank you to Licet Valois, Program Manager at the Alzheimer's Association- New York City Chapter for an engaging and enlightening educational workshop on the Basics of Alzheimer’s. We had a wonderful group of participants and were also able to celebrate Three Kings’ Day with a Rosca de Reyes tasting.

Elder Law Workshop for Caregivers was held on December 12, 2019 with the featured speaker Daniel Timins, Esquire. This was a complimentary legal and financial elder care seminar co-hosted with PSS Circle of Care and included a valuable question-and-answer session.

We joined a public cruise with Sunnyside Community Services

to offer caregivers some relaxation time at no charge, thanks

to the support of the New York State Department of Health,

which supports our caregiver programs.

The Virtual Dementia Tour® was held on September 24 at the Brooklyn Public Library, Washington Irving Branch. It's an impressive interactive experience presented by Right at Home of Brooklyn to help those new to dementia understand the overwhelming effects of the aging process when combined with Alzheimer’s  Disease or dementia. This life-changing workshop can also help you make better caregiving and health care decisions by knowing what your clientele may be coping with on a daily basis.

When It's Not Alzheimer's featured speakers from Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center, CaringKind, and the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. The excellent program at New York Memory Center on September 25 for an excellent program was attended by caregivers and health care professionals. We all learned a lot about these less-known diagnoses.

Create Your Own Emergency Plan. 

A workshop to help you know how to to keep your family safe during an emergency. The workshop was led by Beth Rowan, owner of Evergreen Ally, and covered: Emergency Network, Family Plan, Reacting to Different Emergencies, Vital Information, Supplies
