FAMILY RESOURCE PROGRAM

Care and Support for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregivers

Caregiving services are united under the Family Resource Program at New York Memory Center. Caregiver programs are funded in party by a grant from the New York State Department of Health under the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Initiative, which was initiated to develop and test strategies and systems to address these needs of dementia caregivers.

The Family Resource Program offers educational and wellness programs for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s and related dementia disorders with services that include:

  • Care coaching. Contact Caregiver Social Worker Megan Christ at the email or phone below for more details.

  • Support Group

  • Alzheimer’s navigation services (help with benefits, entitlements, and more)

  • Wellness programs for family caregivers through arts-based and self-care-centered activities (such as theatre outings, meditation, and more)

  • Referral to partnering organizations for short-term respite grants or other services

  • Educational sessions and workshops, often co-sponsored with other agencies

  • Joint enrichment such as Memory Arts Cafes

Take some time for yourself.
